Boycotting Meta Ads has no impact on Starling Bank's growth

In December, following a series of scam ads, Starling Bank announced it would no longer advertise on Facebook or Instagram until Meta cracks down on fraudsters targeting consumers and scamming them out of their savings.

In an annual letter, Anne Boden, Starling Bank’s CEO and founder said, “we want to protect our customers and our brand integrity”. However, Starling Bank have come out and said that removing all paid advertising from Meta had no effect on their marketing performance.

What do you think? Will other brands see Starling’s announcement, prompting an exodus from Meta’s ad platforms, or will Starling see issues in the long term?
